The new “CampSite 2017” theme is now available for beta testing.
It’s a starter theme based on the latest version of _s, and includes 23 widget areas to allow for extensive markup customization. It also provides a new Day of Event template, which makes it easier to highlight the most important information that attendees need to know on the day of your camp.
Before we make the new theme available for all camps, I’d like to get 3-5 upcoming camps to use it on their sites, and provide feedback. That’ll give us a chance to make any backwards-incompatible changes while it’s still practical.
If you’re interested, just leave a comment and I’ll activate the theme for your site. Be sure to check out the style guide that the WCEU team created.
When you’re building your theme, please come back here regularly to leave feedback. It’ll be helpful to hear about any problems you run into, but also to hear what you like about the theme and what works well.
If you’d like to contribute a bug fix, you can open a ticket on Meta Trac and attach a patch. If you’d like to suggest a new feature, you can start that process by publishing a proposal here on make/Community.
